"Good to see you again, Josh. Thanks for meeting me."

"Yeah, you too. Been too long. So...what're you working on now?"

"Just finished a film that Liev Schreiber's directing. It's fun. Prague's been cool. You?"

"Just wrapped 'Black Dahlia. Liev Schreiber, huh? Good for you. You've always been a big fan."

"Yeah, I know. It's fantastic. Surprised you remember."

"You'd be surprised at what I remember."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Just that I haven't forgotten is all."

"Yeah, me neither. Odd, isn't it?"

"What's that?"

"Remembering the past. I dunno...I don't wanna go back in time or anything, but sometimes I feel..."

"...like reliving those memories is all the joy there is."

"Exactly. Always got me, man."

"We got each other."

"You really think that?"

"Wouldn't be here otherwise."

"I just...people change. Y'know? Move on. Bigger and better things."

"If there's truly a connection, then time doesn't matter. Distance doesn't matter. It's still there, still real."

"Were we? Ever real, I mean."

"Yeah, Lij. We were real."

"Just all seems so dreamlike sometimes. Like maybe it happened to someone else."

"You're different now. In a way, it did happen to someone else."

"Yeah, I guess."

"And?"

"Nothing really, it's just -- alright, don't give me that look. It's just. It's silly, alright."

"Try me."

"We're all moving on. And sometimes I look at my tattoo in the mirror and... I just get depressed, man. Silly, huh?"

"Normal."

"Oh, come on..."

"It's normal. You guys were together for how long? Did all those reshoots, all kinds of publicity for three years straight. Years, man. The rest of us envy you guys."

"You do not. Really?"

"Guys were all blessed. Got a bond with each other the rest of us can only marvel at."

"Yeah, and I'm scared of losing it."

"You won't. No matter what happens, the bond is still there."

"Kinda like me and you, huh?"

"Maybe, man, I dunno. I wasn't there."

"That's not what -- okay, maybe not just like me and you."

"Okay."

"You were my first. Did I ever tell you that?"

"You didn't have to."

"Showed that much, huh?"

"A little. But I was flattered as fuck. That you chose me."

"I, um. Still. Choose you, that is."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

Wow. It's really difficult to write a story in pure dialogue, but you've done a very nice job. The characterization was flawless, so even without the LOTR references, I would have known who was speaking.
