"Happy birthday, cricket."

Karl jerked the covers down just far enough to glare at Harry with narrowed eyes. "Fuck off," he mumbled and yanked the sheets over his head.

"Well, that's hardly polite."

Down came the sheets again, this time exposing Karl's entire, frowning face. "I'm old," he complained, and heaved a great sigh before pressing his head back into the pillows.

Harry smothered a laugh and propped himself up on one elbow. "'Sat so?"

"Shut up."

Harry smiled and scooted closer, legs tangled comfortably with Karl's. "You're 32."

"I know that, Sin. Thirty fucking two." Karl sighed again and gave Harry a long-suffering look. "I'm ancient."

"Fair to dottering, I'd expect."

"Stop poking fun."

"Well, I hardly see how you can expect anything else," Harry pointed out, rubbing a casual hand over the bristles of Karl's closely shaven head. "I'm older than you and I don't think I'm ancient."

"'Course you're not." Karl's face softened into a gentle smile as his fingers traced the crinkles of Harry's eyes. "You could never be old."

Harry caught Karl's hand and placed a kiss to the palm before linking their fingers together. "Then enough nonsense about you getting old, yeah?"

With a muted, desperate sound, Karl launched himself at Harry and rolled on top of him, smothering kisses all over his neck and face. Harry just grunted and wrapped his arms around Karl's waist, shifting until they were more comfortably aligned.

"Love me when I'm 80?" Karl asked, between kisses.

"Well, I dunno," Harry teased. "I'll probably be dead. Being so old and all."

Karl whapped him on the shoulder. "You can still love me when you're dead. Now promise."

Harry sighed, then grunted again when Karl poked him. "Ow, alright. My rotting corpse -- ow -- okay, my 'celestial soul' will love you even when you're 80 and I'm dead. How's that?"

"Perfect." Karl grinned and nuzzled the soft spot below Harry's left ear. "Presents now, please?"

Harry cupped Karl's ass, dragged him up for a lengthy, open-mouthed kiss. "Got one here for you right now," he murmured.

"Favorite gift," Karl whispered, and closed his hand around Harry's erection.
