"Alright, mates, that about does it for me," Eric stated, setting his empty beer bottle down with a decisive thump. "See you ladies in the morning."

"Lightweight!" William called after him, then grinned at Nicolaj. "He ain't really tired, you know."

"He's not?" Nicolaj glanced at William with a puzzled frown.

"Nope. Gotta call his wife."

"One of those." Nicolaj nodded, as if that settled the matter. "Don't you have to call yours?"

"Nope."

"But I thought you were..."

"Don’t think, Nic," William smirked, eyes crinkling with secrets. "Now finish your drink so we can continue this back at mine."
