someone on my flist recced this! i can't remember why i didn't read it then, tho, because it is really, really good. i like how you give us charlie's history and how you make him make sense, and i love the suggestion that he's attracted to ben because ben is so very like the hero of the stories charlie's mom used to tell him. you make him into more than just a guy who's fiercely loyal to his boss, and i love that we get little bits of ben not just thru charlie's pov but also in the little snippets of conversation.
(and honestly, it doesn't need any more payoff than this.)
