Aww...I love that John can still try to protect his boys from some of the horrors in the world, and is completely able to shut the guy down with veiled politeness.
Thank you so much!! I do love the idea of John protecting the boys in his very own special, Winchester, I'm not going to tell you why sort of way. *g*
Exactly the right thing to say. That, and following it up with the job. But, if he's 17 now, and going to go on a hunt by himself, why would Sam be surprised years later that he's going solo at 26? (Sorry for being anal...)
*laughs* No worries, you're not being anal at all. I guess it's not clear at the end, but I meant for John talking to him about the Louisville job to mean that John was letting the boys start to get back in on the hunts & do the recon & research & start to go with John again. Not a solo hunt. But I guess I can see where that would be sort of ambiguous. :)
I liked the way that you described Dean itching to move in the beginning, how differently Sam adapted, and how Dean's annoyance comes through the text.
Again, thank you!!! Dean's just a joy to write, he really is. I'm glad it shows & that the relationship between the brothers also came through.
