This was unexpectedly sweet for a Midnight Cowboy fic! But somehow right and fitting. I liked Ratso's voice a lot, very convincing. And the fears he harbours for Joe on his own. And I found myself being convinced by the shmaltziness, too, I didn't think I would be! :-)
