Oooh, what a Kodak moment! I want it framed, almost naked Sean calling Orlando out. Ngh.
I want a copy, yo.
I’m quite in love with this – how you balance it out so perfectly that we’re not really sure whether Orlando really believes that, whether it is really true or not. Because both, his sunny as well as his broody side are so believable and captured quite nicely in this bit of introspection.
Thanks, baby. To be honest, I'm not quite sure myself that Orlando really believes his own brand of bullshit, but it's important to him that he SAY this sort of thing to himself, y'know?
Also, I LOVE the way Sean and Orlando quote Shakespeare back at each other and how Sean gets just this liiittle bit of thoughtful and Orlando is all defending his honour, so innocently at that. I adore it.
I was telling someone else that when they finally get together, I wouldn't be surprised if there was sonnet-quoting. No lie.
This is hands down my favourite bit everever (well, fav that doesn’t involve snogging at least :)). I can so hear Orlando’s horror and it’s the most hilarious thing ever that Billy chose that example of all things. – Do you think my husband Dave would mind if I add Billy to my harem? Dave can beat him at poker all day and Billy can be Scottish about it…
That part was a true story involving me & my Australian friend, Dee, who was HORRIFIED to learn that we make iced tea (and that Southerners actually make it SWEET. *g*) And Dave says he doesn't mind if Billy joins the harem. *g*
I love Orlando’s way with words. It’s so great to see him trying to suss out Sean here, and again doing it by trying to find matching descriptions and nailing it – even if he doesn’t even realize it. Love it.
Orlando may be oblivious, but he's a pretty smart cookie. About matters that don't pertain to him directly.
